A cocktail is an alcoholic mixed drink which is combined with one or more types of alcohols and may be mixed with other ingredients such as fruit juice, sodas, flavored syrups, herbs, spices, cream, etc.
A mixed drink made without alcohol is known as virgin cocktail or mocktail and is developed to satisfy the needs of teetotalers.
Making a good cocktail requires experience, skill and quality ingredients. A cocktail is enjoyed when it’s presented well, has the right balance, taste and texture.
In comparison to traditional drinks that are usually consumed with aerated mixers, cocktails can be a much healthier choice as many of them contain nutrients and antioxidants from the fruit, herbs or spices used. To enjoy healthy benefits, it is important to use fresh ingredients and natural fruit or vegetable juices over concentrates.
Some additives commonly found in Cocktails:

Alcohol in Cocktails
It is scientifically proven that occasional use of ethyl alcohol (not more than 1 or 2 drinks a day and up to 7 drinks a week) can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. It should be well noted that this applies to adults of legal drinking age and guidelines do not recommend that people who do not drink alcohol start drinking for any reason.
